The International Workshop on High Energy and Special Materials (HEMs) is a regular event organized by Tomsk State University and Federal Reseach and Production Centre (FR&PC), Russia in association with International collaborators like Politecnico di Milano, Italy; Airbus Safran Launchers (Ariane Group) and Université Lyon 1, France; JAXA, JapanAerospace ExplorationAgency (JAXA), Japan; and High Energy Materials Laboratory (HEMRL), DRDO, India.
First time, HEMs workshop was organised by Russian Specialists in their country In the year 2004 and subsequently it is being held in Russia and other countries like France, JapanAerospace ExplorationAgency (JAXA), Japan, Monaco, and India. The HEMS workshop has attracted eminent personalities and researchers from countries like Russia, UK, USA, Italy, JapanAerospace ExplorationAgency (JAXA), Japan, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Israel, India, Austria etc.
The rapidly changing field of HEMs requires frequent review and monitoring of developments and research domains and HEMs-2025 is apt to deliberate the progresses made in the vital areas of HEMs and their emerging trends. The exploration of cutting-edge technologies, the deliberations on innovative aspect of HEMs and the initiatives for collaborative developments are the major features of HEMs-2025.
The main Theme of this conference is ‘Future Trends in Propulsion Technologies‘, which is the need of the hour.
The XX International Workshop HEMs-2025 will be held to discuss and deliberate recent advances on High Energy Materials and allied technologies. In addition, the workshop is aimed at strengthening collaboration of scientists and researchers across the globe on the development of new articles based on High energy and special materials.

Nasik city is situated at the foothills of Western Ghats. It is known for its cultural art, literature, and food. Nasik’s economy is diverse, encompassing manufacturing, IT and agriculture, with a growing focus on tourism, particularly as a “Wine Capital of India”. Nasik is well-connected by roads, including national highways like Mumbai-Agra (NH-3) and Pune-Nasik (NH-50). The Mumbai-Nasik Expressway and the Surat-Nasik-Chennai expressway pass through Nasik. Nasik Road railway station is a major railway station, and regular travellers can also reach Nasik from Kasara or Igatpuri. Nasik has a domestic airport at Ojhar, connecting it to major cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Indore and Ahmedabad.
Nasik is considered a holy place, believed to be the abode of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana during their 14 years exile, as described in the Ramayana. It’s home to several notable Hindu shrines, including the Kalaram Temple in Panchvati. Nasik is one of the four pilgrimage sites for the Kumbh Mela, a major religious gathering held every 12 years.
Trimbakeshwar, a temple dedicated to Shiva and one of the twelve jyotirlingas, is located nearby, with the sacred Godavari River originating on Bramhagiri hills. Shree Saptshrungi Gadh is situated at a distance of 60 km from Nasik in Kalwan Tehsil and is considered one of the “three and a half” Shakti Peeths in Maharashtra.
